A Clifton Village institution, brought into the digital age.
The Albion is a historic pub and dining destination in the heart of Clifton Village, Bristol, serving food, Sunday roasts, drinks and private dining to a loyal local audience. The focus of this project was the website itself: in April 2026 we designed and built a clean, modern site that does the pub justice and makes booking effortless. The search gains that followed were a welcome bonus rather than the goal. This study covers the launch period from 17 April to 20 May 2026 and the early performance the new site delivered.

Clifton Village and wider Bristol hospitality search is crowded with established pubs, restaurants, bars and venue brands, all chasing the same high intent local terms such as Sunday roast, pub food, private dining and venue hire. Migrating an established site adds a second layer of risk to rankings, indexation and years of link equity. The old site carried redirect chains, a broken page and several non indexable URLs, and the domain had built up a large but low quality backlink profile.
The job was first and foremost to give the pub a website worthy of its name, fast, beautiful and easy to book through, while protecting the brand and its hard won local presence through the move. Stronger search visibility was the bonus that came with getting the foundations right
We treated the relaunch with care, protecting everything the pub had earned while giving it a fresh, faster home.

Tristan and his company redesigned our company website. It has produced exception results – online enquires have gone up 3 fold, bookings have increased 33%, private dining bookings have increased 11%. These are all qualified stats! Pretty impressive. What is most impressive is the increase in Google rankings, and searches – in a time when hospitality is not where it was any spend has to be critically analysed with return on investment. We did it and it was the best decision we made in 10 years.
